Dr. P.K. Raju

Dr. P.K. Raju is the Thomas Walter Distinguished Professor Emeritus in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University. He has conducted award-winning research in the areas of acoustics, noise control, and innovations in engineering education. Dr. Raju has authored/coauthored 18 books, 11 book chapters, and more than 280 research publications in his research areas. Additionally, he has mentored more than 200 undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral scholars. During his tenure at Auburn University, Dr. Raju directed two centers within his department—one focusing on STEM education and the other on engineering/industry technology collaboration. Under his leadership, these centers received over 12 million dollars in funding from NSF and other federal agencies.
Dr. Raju’s research in STEM education focused on developing new pedagogical techniques in engineering education and has been recognized by the National Academy of Engineering. He has pioneered the development of award-winning case studies that have been implemented into engineering and business classrooms at universities including MIT, Harvard, Georgia Tech, and Auburn University. Dr. Raju’s work in STEM education has been awarded nationally by NEEDS & John Wiley, the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and other reputable entities. In recognition of his scholarly contributions, Dr. P.K. Raju has been named a Life Fellow of the ASEE, Life Fellow of ASME, Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Fellow of the Acoustical Society of India, and Foreign Member of the Russian Federation of Acoustics.


Dr. Eliza Banu

Dr. Eliza Banu received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Auburn University and is currently a lecturer in the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia. She has been involved in engineering education research since 2010 and received the Emerging SoTL Scholar Award in 2018. Dr. Banu is involved with the Engineering Education Transformation Institute, housed in the College of Engineering at UGA


Anna Mathis

Anna is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Professional and Public Writing with a minor in natural resource economics and environmental policy at Auburn University. She is a member of the AU Honors College and Honors Congress. Anna will graduate in December of 2022 with plans to pursue a Master of Arts in Technical Communication. Within this field, her research interests include environmental rhetoric, user-centered design, and risk communication.
