Improving Engineering and Technology Education by Applying What is Known About How People Learn
AbstractThe scientific knowledge base on learning has only recently become well-enough established that educators can use this knowledge to design educational experiences that will result in learning. This paper summarizes the current scientific knowledge on learning from the book How People Learn and applies these learning principles to engineering and technology education. Methods to improve teaching and help professors learn these new teaching methods are delineated.
